One of those days... - When I Grow Up

One of those days... - When I Grow Up Dja ever have one of those days. You know the kind Im talking about..where everything comes in at once, where you seem like youre in 10 different places, where youre trapped in a commitment you want to get out of, where your computer keeps crashing, your head wont stop spinning, your shoulder muscles keep tensing and your blood pressures rising? Id love to put in a little answer here that would read something like, Well, what works for me is to take 5 deep breaths while picturing rainbows and kittens and your high school crush while the colors in your mind go from yellow to blue to white and your favorite Smurf sings you the lullabye that your Mom used to rock you to sleep with Aah, if it was only that easy. I wish I had the solution! Instead, Im going to start building my own list while asking for your help with this, too! So the question is: When everything is building and building until you just want to scream/pull your hair out/run away from home/find your pacifier (I used to call mine a blah blah), what do you do? How can you calm yourself down into prioritizing your tasks and breathing again? Here are my suggestions to start this off*: Take 5 deep breaths while picturing rainbows and kittens and your high school crush while the colors in your mind go from yellow to blue to white and your favorite Smurf sings you the lullabye that your Mom used to rock you to sleep withOK, only kidding. But making jokes makes me slow down, so I guess Im only kinda kidding. Walk away from it. If possible, go outside and get some air/move your muscles/buy an ice cream (ice cream makes everything better). If you cant leave your area, turn your back on whats frustrating you or go to another area of the room. Take a piece of paper or a pen with you and write down every task your brain is trying to process and prioritize the list. Or doodle. Or write a letter to your computer explaining why you want to kick it in its big fat face. *Please note that this is a new/foreign process for me a new perspective, if you will so none of these options have been tried out. I might start going through this list, though..stay tuned! Please leave a comment and let me know what you do to decompress when the stress is boiling over! UPDATE: Ive started a List to prevent you from screaming/pulling your hair out/running away/finding your pacifier help ya Grow Up. Feel free to add to it, use it and abuse it.
